Comment Culture

This blog is meant to be a calm, respectful place.

The internet can be loud, harsh, and exhausting. I want this space to be different—a place where people can speak without being attacked, dismissed, or talked over.

So here’s what comment culture looks like here.

What’s Welcome

  • Kindness, even when opinions differ
  • Thoughtful reflections and lived experiences
  • Curiosity instead of judgment
  • Respectful disagreement, expressed calmly
  • Listening as much as speaking

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be respectful.

What’s Not Welcome

  • Personal attacks or insults
  • Dismissive or mocking language
  • Minimizing someone else’s experience
  • Hostility, sarcasm meant to wound, or bad-faith arguing
  • Turning conversations into debates that erase humanity

Comments that cross these lines will be removed. Not as punishment—but as protection for the space and the people in it.

Why This Matters

Kind people often stay silent online because they don’t feel safe speaking up.

I want this to be a place where thoughtful voices feel comfortable joining in.

Connection doesn’t grow where people feel tense or defensive.

It grows where there is care, patience, and mutual respect.

A Simple Guideline

Before commenting, ask:

  • Is this kind?
  • Is this necessary?
  • Is this respectful?

If the answer is yes, you’re welcome here.

Thank you for helping keep this a gentler corner of the internet.
