How I Stopped Exercising for a Year… and Shocked Myself With What Happened
Listen.
I didn’t mean to stop exercising for a whole damn year.
It wasn’t a conscious “I’m done with fitness, goodbye abs, farewell endorphins.”
It was more like:
“I just need to focus on work… like, really focus… I’ll get back to exercise next week.”
Next week became a month.
A month became six.
Six months became, well… a full freakin’ year.
And here’s the plot twist:
It didn’t ruin my eyesight, my brain didn’t fall out, and I didn’t suddenly lose all my talent.
But oh my god —
Did it mess with my health. MY ENERGY. MY MOOD. MY SANITY.
And that’s when I realised something huge:
**Exercise isn’t about looking hot.
Exercise is about staying alive.**
When you stop moving, your body gives you subtle hints at first:
-
“Hey babe, we’re a bit stiff.”
-
“Maybe we should stretch?”
-
“Could we please walk to the mailbox at least?”
But ignore your body long enough and it stops whispering.
It starts SCREAMING.
I felt it everywhere:
-
Sluggish mornings
-
Random aches
-
Zero motivation
-
Foggy focus
-
Feeling older than I actually am
-
And a level of tired that no amount of sleep could fix
Not cute.
I finally realised… health is wealth, and I was bankrupt.
Work was going great.
Money was improving.
Life was moving forward.
But my body?
She was like:
“Girl… we need to talk.”
And she was right.
Because without health:
-
your work suffers
-
your energy tanks
-
your mood drops
-
your confidence slides
-
and everything gets 10x harder
I was literally hustling my way into a slow-motion breakdown.
So here’s what I want to say to you — don’t do what I did.
Don’t sacrifice your health for your job.
Don’t push your body aside like it’s some optional subscription you’ll reactivate “later.”
Don’t think you can run on stress and caffeine forever (you can’t — trust me).
Your body is your engine,
your battery,
your power source.
Ignore it and everything else collapses.
The GOOD news?
You don’t need to move mountains.
You don’t need an expensive gym membership.
You don’t need to become some fitness influencer drinking spinach air.
Just move.
Walk.
Stretch.
Do 10 squats.
Dance in your living room like the unhinged queen you are.
Eat food that actually came from the planet and not a factory.
Your body will thank you.
Your energy will explode.
Your confidence will glow.
Your work will get better.
Your mind will get calmer.
And you’ll feel…
Fucking amazing.
(Yes, that’s the brand.)
