Is It Just Me, or Has Anyone Else Started Blocking Fake People?

Is it just me, or has anyone else started blocking fake people lately? You know the ones — the energy vampires who complain constantly, show up only when they’ve got a problem, and bring absolutely zero good vibes with them.

Cutting Out Negative People for Mental Peace

Sometimes it’s not even strangers — it’s family members or old friends you’ve known forever. You love them, but you’re done with the constant drama. They let themselves in when your door’s unlocked, start moaning before you’ve even made tea, and somehow every story turns into a tragedy starring them.

They never have anything nice to say about anyone. Even if they won the lottery, they’d find something to complain about. Their default setting is negative, and their favourite hobby is backstabbing. And at some point, you’ve got to ask yourself — why am I still giving them airtime?

When Blocking Becomes Self-Care

I’ve realised something: these people only show up when they need something — sympathy, validation, or a new audience for their chaos. And I’m no longer the audience. I’ve reached the stage in life where the rule is simple: if you complain, I block. That’s it.

When you’re younger, it’s easy to tell people to fuck off and move on. But as you get older, they get sneakier — they think they “know you” or that you owe them your time. But they don’t. They know the old you — the one who listened, absorbed, and tried to fix things. The new you? Doesn’t play that game anymore.

Protecting Your Peace Is Powerful

Blocking fake people isn’t rude — it’s healthy. Protecting your energy means creating space for genuine connections and peaceful silence. And honestly, once you start, it’s addictive. You can’t fix everyone, but you can absolutely choose who gets access to you.

So yeah — block, block, block, block, block. My peace is more valuable than someone else’s never-ending problems. Anyone else feeling the same?
