How Ugly Minds Infect You (Like a Bad STD But For Your Soul)
Picture this: You wake up, the birds are singing, your hair looks semi-decent, and you’re ready to have a good day.
Then bam — you get a message from Brenda the Human Raincloud:
“Ugh. Mondays. I swear my life is cursed.”
And just like that, your mood drops faster than your will to diet on a Saturday.
Let’s break down the disease that is Ugly Mind Syndrome™ — and why you need to avoid it like it’s a buffet sneeze guard during flu season.
Symptom One: Mood Assassination
Ugly minds don’t just kill your vibe — they perform a full crime scene investigation and pin the murder weapon on your happiness.
You: “I started running again, feeling great!”
Them: “Hope your knees don’t explode. You know runners end up crippled.”
Now you’re googling knee braces instead of running playlists.
Diagnosis: infected with pessimistic doom.
Symptom Two: Ambition Slaughter
Ever told someone your goals and instantly regretted it?
You: “I’m thinking of starting my own business.”
Ugly Mind: snort “Pyramid scheme vibes.”
You: “Oh no, it’s an actual business.”
Ugly Mind: “Oh honey… businesses fail in the first year. I just don’t want you to be disappointed.”
Translation: They want you to stay broke, bitter, and binge-watching Netflix with them till you both grow moss.
Tip: Tell your goals to people who clap, not cackle.
Symptom Three: The ‘Must Be Nice’ Flu
Ah yes, the classic.
You: “I got a bonus at work!”
Them: “Must be nice. Some of us don’t get bonuses.”
You: “I booked a holiday!”
Them: “Must be nice. Some of us can’t afford one.”
You: “I breathed today.”
Them: “Must be nice. I’m suffocating under capitalism.”
Listen… you are not responsible for other people’s life choices. Quarantine immediately.
Symptom Four: Passive-Aggressive Epidemic
My personal favourite. They won’t outright insult you — they’ll do it with a smile and call it ‘joking.’
You: “I started eating healthier.”
Them: “LOL who even are you? Soon you’ll be that person who brings carrot sticks to parties.”
Next thing you know, you’re elbow-deep in Pringles wondering why you can’t have nice things.
The Cure: A Tactical Ghosting Protocol
- Step One: Mute them like your life depends on it — because it kinda does.
- Step Two: Practice the art of No Response Energy™. They can’t drag you down if you don’t attend the pity party.
- Step Three: Build your Circle of Delusional Optimists™. These are the people who think you’re a genius, a rockstar, and possibly the second coming of Beyoncé.
That’s your tribe. Find them. Stick with them. Send memes daily.
Final Thought:
Ugly minds are like expired milk — they stink up everything, give you stomach cramps, and should be thrown out immediately.
Life’s too short to be emotionally lactose intolerant.
Go forth and protect your peace like it’s the last slice of pizza. You deserve it.
