I Blocked the Stress & Set Myself Free: A Detox of People, Pain & Poison
For years, I thought stress was just part of life.
You know — relationships that drain you, people who guilt-trip you, never-ending pressure to be everything for everyone. I kept going. I showed up. I held it together while my body quietly fell apart. Sleep was broken. My energy was fried. I’d either feel numb or on the edge of a meltdown — there was no in-between.
But here’s the truth no one wants to say out loud:
Stress isn’t normal. It’s not noble. And you don’t owe anyone your peace.
The Day I Snapped (in the Best Way)
One day, I just got tired. Not tired like “I need a nap.”
Tired like: I’m done explaining myself. I’m done tolerating bullshit. I’m done living like this is the best I can get.
I looked at the people who made my stomach knot.
The messages that gave me anxiety.
The conversations that made me feel small.
And I blocked them. All of them. Without drama. Without explanation.
Because honestly? If someone’s presence in your life is costing you your health, your sleep, or your sanity — it’s too expensive. Period.
What Happened Next Felt Like Magic
- I started sleeping. Proper, deep, healing sleep.
- I woke up without that weight in my chest.
- My thoughts got clearer.
- My body began releasing years of tension and toxins.
- I didn’t crave the same junk — food or people.
I didn’t just detox my diet.
I detoxed my whole life.
A Note to You (Yeah, You)
If you’re still stuck in the cycle — feeling guilty, overwhelmed, or unsure if you have “the right” to walk away…
Here’s your permission slip:
You don’t have to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm.
Block the stress.
Say no without guilt.
Be unreachable to the people who drained you.
You’re not cold. You’re not selfish.
You’re finally safe — and that is something to protect.
My Detox Isn’t Just About Kale and Quinoa
It’s boundaries.
It’s rest.
It’s drinking herbal tea and laughing with people who lift me.
It’s healing at a cellular level — emotionally, physically, spiritually.
It’s walking into the next chapter unapologetically free.
And if I can do it after 15 years of high stress, you can too.
Let them call you difficult.
Let them call you cold.
You just focus on becoming fucking amazing — because that’s what you were born to be.
