“Am I the Problem?” A Love Letter to the Lonely Ones
I’m so fucking lonely.
Not the kind of lonely you fix with a night out or a Netflix binge.
The kind that sits in your chest. In your gut. In the silence.
The kind that whispers, “Is it me?”
Because I’ve been surrounded by judgmental people.
My mother judged everything I did. My ex judged everything I was.
And when you live under constant criticism, something dangerous starts to happen.
You begin to wonder if they’re right.
You start asking questions like:
Am I too much?
Am I hard to love?
Am I the reason I’m alone?
But here’s what I need you to know — and what I’m slowly learning myself:
You are not the problem.
Judgment is Not Love
Let’s get brutally clear:
Judgment is not guidance.
It’s not love in disguise.
It’s not “for your own good.”
It’s control.
It’s projection.
It’s a way for emotionally stunted people to avoid dealing with their own shit.
Judgment says, “You’re not okay unless you become what I need you to be.”
Love says, “You’re okay exactly as you are.”
When you grow up or live with judgment, you internalise it.
You carry it like a backpack full of bricks.
And then, when people leave… you wonder if the weight was you.
But I want to tell you this loud and clear:
The weight wasn’t you.
The problem wasn’t you.
The loneliness isn’t proof you’re unlovable — it’s proof you’ve outgrown the bullshit.
Why You Feel So Fucking Lonely
You’re not lonely because you’re broken.
You’re lonely because you’re healing.
You’ve stopped tolerating crumbs.
You’ve stopped shape-shifting to keep the peace.
You’ve stopped betraying yourself just to avoid being abandoned.
And that’s beautiful.
But it’s also… empty.
Because when you clear out all the fake, toxic noise — there’s a silence before the good stuff arrives.
That space in between the pain and the new tribe?
It’s brutal.
But it’s holy.
The Truth About You
If you’re even asking, “Am I the problem?”
You’re not.
People who are the problem don’t ask.
They blame.
They attack.
They judge.
You?
You’re reflecting.
You’re healing.
You’re rewriting the script.
Let This Be Your Reminder:
You are not too much.
You are not unlovable.
You are not hard to be with.
You are not broken.
You are not responsible for other people’s inability to love properly.
You are worthy of soft eyes.
Of safe love.
Of connection that doesn’t make you question your sanity.
And if you’re lonely right now — I see you. I honour you. I’m there too.
But this isn’t the end of your story.
It’s just the part where everything shifts.
With love and rage,
You.
