Day 8: Skip When No One's Watching

Your dog won't judge you. Nobody else matters anyway.
Somewhere around age ten, we all just quietly stopped skipping. No one decided it, no one told us to, we just swapped it for walking like normal, sensible grown-ups. Today, you're taking it back. Specifically, on the dog walk.
Whenever there's a stretch with no one obviously around, you skip instead of walk. Your dog won't judge you. Nobody else matters anyway.
That's it. That's the whole rule. Lead in one hand, skip with the rest of you, and watch your dog carry on completely unbothered like this is entirely normal behaviour, because to them, it is.
THE RULE

Empty path, no cars, no people? Skip.

Any clear stretch on your walk today, park, pavement, field, doesn't matter, if there's genuinely no one around to see, you skip instead of walk. Full arm swing optional but strongly recommended.

CAUGHT ANYWAY?

Who gives a shit

If someone does catch you mid-skip, you're not the one having a bad day, they are, they're just walking. Give them a wave and carry on. You're allowed to look a bit daft when you're clearly enjoying yourself more than anyone else on that path.

WHY IT COUNTS

It's still exercise, just a joyful one

Skipping works your calves, quads and coordination, but more than that, it's the one movement today that isn't about squats or holding anything, it's just pure daft joy. Some days the body needs effort. Today it just needs a bit of play.

Your dog's not going to remember today as the day you got fitter. It'll remember it as the day you were happy on a walk. That's not a bad trade.
113 days left. Keep going.
Love, Vikki
