Get a degree. Get a stable job. Keep your head down, save a bit each month, and one day you'll be comfortable. Bless the advice, it was well meant. It also feels a bit like being handed a map to a place that stopped existing a while ago. Playing it safe by the old rules just gets you a very stable version of not quite enough. So here's my genuinely upbeat take on being fed up, sometimes fed up is just the universe's way of nudging you toward the fun bit, building something that's actually yours. It Starts Today, Not Monday

It's Thursday. Sorry to the Monday Club, we're starting now.
We've all done it. "Right, that's it, diet starts Monday." Said with full conviction, usually somewhere around a Thursday, usually right before ordering something that has absolutely no business being ordered by someone who's "starting Monday." It's practically a national tradition at this point.
Monday isn't a magic reset button. It's just a day, exactly like today, except today actually exists.
Here's the thing about Monday, it's not special. It doesn't come with extra willpower attached, or a discount on discipline. It's just the day we've all silently agreed is allowed to be the "proper" starting line, while every day between now and then gets written off as a bit of a write off.
THE MONDAY MYTH

Why we all do it

Starting on a Monday feels tidy. A fresh week, a clean slate, a proper beginning. But that tidiness is exactly the trap, because it gives you permission to treat today, and tomorrow, and the day after, as a free pass, three or four days of "it doesn't count yet" before the real thing supposedly begins.

THE ACTUAL PROBLEM

It's never really about Monday

The people who wait for Monday to start are usually the same people waiting for Monday next week too, and the week after that. The date was never the issue. The waiting is the issue, and waiting is available every single day of the week, including Monday.

TODAY, ACTUALLY

It's Thursday. Let's just start

Not a full overhaul, not a perfect plan, just one decent choice today that you'd normally save for "when it really starts." A better lunch. A walk. Water instead of whatever you'd normally reach for. Monday can still show up and do its thing. It just doesn't get to be the only day that counts anymore.

So happy Thursday, and happy start date. Nobody's coming to tell you it officially begins in four days. It begins whenever you decide it does, and today works just fine.
91 days left. Thursday's as good a day as any.
Love, Vikki
