Days 12 to 14 of 120: You Won't Get This Right, and That's the Point — The Christmas Body Countdown
120 Days to Christmas • The Journey Continues
You Won't Get This Right, and That's the Point
Some days you'll catch it. Some days you won't. Both count.
Here's what nobody tells you about learning to listen to yourself. It's not a skill you master once and keep forever. It's not a switch that flips from "stressed and clueless" to "calm and aware" and stays there. Some days you'll catch the signal the second it shows up. Other days you'll only realise you were stressed hours later, looking back, wondering how you missed it. Both of those are completely normal. Neither one means you're failing at this.
The discipline was never about getting it right every time. It's about coming back and trying again, even after the days you didn't.
So here's what these three days are actually about, not becoming perfect at reading your own body, but making peace with how uneven that process really is.
DAY TWELVE
You won't always catch it in time
Some days the signal slips past you completely, and you only notice afterward, when you're already exhausted or snappy or running on empty. That's not a failure of awareness, it's just how this works. Awareness comes and goes. Noticing late is still noticing.
DAY THIRTEEN
You won't always do the "right" thing with it
Even on the days you do catch a signal, you might still scroll instead of pausing, still snap instead of breathing, still push through when your body's clearly asking you to stop. That doesn't undo the noticing. The point was never getting it right every time, it's shortening the gap between the signal and you noticing it, bit by bit.
DAY FOURTEEN
Trying again is the whole practice
There's no finished version of this where you've "got it" forever. Some weeks you'll be brilliant at listening to yourself. Some weeks you'll barely notice anything until you're running on fumes. Both weeks are part of the same practice. The only actual failure is deciding it's not worth trying again.
You're not doing this wrong. You're doing it the only way anyone actually does, imperfectly, inconsistently, and worth continuing anyway.
106 days left. Keep going.
Love, Vikki
