Fuck That Shit
Fuck that shit.
I don't say that lightly, and I definitely don't say it for shock value. I say it because I've spent enough of my life managing people who lie, twist, manipulate, and perform their way through relationships, and I've finally arrived somewhere new. I'm done. Genuinely, properly done.
Life is too short to keep translating someone else's lies into something you can live with.
Some people only have words
Here's what I've learned the hard way. Some people don't have love to give, they have a script. They don't have honesty, they have a version of events that changes depending on who's listening. They talk and talk and talk, and none of it holds up, because none of it was ever meant to be true, it was only ever meant to work.
For years I mistook the talking for substance. I thought if someone said the right thing, apologised the right way, explained themselves convincingly enough, that meant something real was underneath it. It doesn't. Words are the cheapest thing a person can offer you. Anyone can say anything. Actions are the only receipt that counts.
I'm done managing other people's chaos
I've spent so much energy staying calm while someone else created chaos, staying factual while someone else twisted facts, holding steady while someone else tried to knock me off balance. And somewhere along the way I realised, that's not a relationship, that's a job. An unpaid, exhausting, thankless job I never applied for.
So I quit. Not loudly, not with a big dramatic speech, just a quiet, permanent stepping back. Facts only. Nothing personal. No explanations owed. If someone can't meet me with honesty, they don't get access to me at all.
You don't owe anyone your energy
Somewhere we got taught that walking away from difficult people makes us the difficult one. That patience is a virtue no matter who it's spent on. I don't believe that anymore. Patience spent on someone who's lying to your face isn't a virtue, it's a slow leak in your own life, and you don't get that time back.
You're allowed to stop explaining yourself to people who were never listening. You're allowed to stop hoping someone will finally be honest when they've shown you, repeatedly, that they won't. You're allowed to just walk away, block the number, hold the boundary, and mean it.
Fuck that shit, and here's to real
I'd rather have less people in my life who are completely real, than a full contacts list of people performing at me. I'd rather be boring and honest than exciting and fake. I'd rather spend my time with people whose actions actually match their words, even if that circle is small.
So that's the motto now. Fuck that shit. Life's too short for it, and I've got better things to build.
Love, Vikki
