Seven Days Of People-Watching | Days 62–68 of 120 Days to Christmas

Days 62-68 of 120: Seven Days Of People-Watching — The Christmas Body Countdown 62-68 of 120 120 Days to Christmas Seven Days Of People-Watching Two dials, four kinds of people, and who to keep close. Seven days went by, and I'm not going to dress that up. So instead of seven rushed posts, here's one proper one, about something I find fascinating: watching how different people handle honesty and conflict. It's all from what I've noticed over the years, so please take it as my observations, not gospel. Two dials tell you a lot about a person: how honest they are, and how much conflict they bring. DAY 62: THE TWO DIALS Honesty and conflict Picture two dials. One is honesty: how truthful someone is, from low to high. The other is conflict: how much drama and friction they bring, from low to high. Turn them to different settings and you get four very different kinds of people. We all slide around a ...

Do One Loving Thing for Yourself

No conditions. No earning it first.
Yesterday was about love before transaction, and how you can spot it in other people. Today, turn that same lens on yourself. Because the same lie shows up here too — the idea that you have to earn love, even your own, before you're allowed to have it.
You don't get to love yourself later, once you've earned it. You practise loving yourself now, exactly as you are, and everything else follows.
So today isn't about a plan, a workout, or ticking a box. It's one thing, done purely because you deserve it, not because you hit a target first. Not a reward for good behaviour. Just love, first, the same way you're asking it of everyone else.
STEP ONE

Pick one loving thing

Small or big, it doesn't matter. A bath, a walk, a proper meal, ten quiet minutes with no phone. Something that says I'm looking after you, not I'm fixing you.

STEP TWO

Do it without earning it first

No "I'll do it once I've trained" or "once I've eaten well today." That's the transaction trap from yesterday, just aimed at yourself instead of someone else. Do it first. Today. No conditions.

STEP THREE

Notice how it feels

Not the guilt, if it shows up, just notice it and let it pass. Notice the actual care underneath it. That's the feeling you're trying to build more of, on purpose, every day from here.

Honesty on day one, clearing space on day two, love before transaction on day three, and now, today, giving that same love to yourself first, before you've done anything to prove you deserve it.
117 days left. Keep going.
Love, Vikki
