When You’re So Tired You Don’t Know What To Do

When You're So Tired You Don't Know What To Do Next

When you hit burnout, everything feels heavy. Even basic tasks feel impossible. You wake up tired, you go to bed tired, and you exist in a constant state of “I can’t do this right now.”

Burnout isn’t laziness. Burnout is your body screaming “enough” after you’ve kept going for too long without rest, help, or support.

Start With Something Tiny

When you’re exhausted, don’t try to fix everything. Just focus on one tiny thing:

  • drink water
  • sit outside for 3 minutes
  • stretch your neck
  • stand up and breathe
  • take a slow shower

Small things count. They’re recovery signals to your nervous system.

Your Body Is Asking For a Pause

Burnout isn’t a mindset problem. It’s a nervous system problem. Your body literally needs a break. You’re not weak for needing rest—you’re human.

If You Can, Try This

  • 10 minutes of quiet
  • say no to something today
  • lower your expectations
  • stop pushing
  • do the bare minimum

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop forcing yourself.

If No One Told You Today:

  • You’re not failing
  • You’re overwhelmed
  • Rest counts as progress
  • Your body needs recovery
  • You’re allowed to slow down

Save This For The Days You Can’t Do Anything

Burnout isn’t permanent. It’s a sign you’ve been doing too much for too long. You deserve rest, softness, and days where you don’t have to be the strong one.

You’re doing the best you can with the energy you have. And that’s enough.
