Lazy Girl Detox: Feeling Better Without Doing… Much
Lazy Girl Detox: Feeling Better Without Doing… Much
Detox culture: Wake up at 5am, drink something green that tastes like lawn clippings, do hot yoga with 27 strangers, journal for 45 minutes, cold plunge, breathwork, no sugar, no caffeine, no fun, no life.
Me: If it takes more than 3 steps, I don’t want it.
This is your official Lazy Girl Detox – for tired humans who want to feel better, calmer, lighter and less like a raging goblin… without turning their whole life into a wellness project.
If you’ve ever thought:
- “I want a reset but I am not giving up tea.”
- “I want to feel better but I also want to lie down.”
- “I want my brain to shut up, my body to chill and my soul to stop screaming.”
…this is for you.
No extreme diets. No 21-day bootcamps. No “rise and grind” nonsense.
Just tiny, lazy-girl-approved tweaks that help your body and nervous system stop hating you.
What Is a Lazy Girl Detox?
A Lazy Girl Detox is not about punishing yourself for existing. It’s about:
- Feeling less like you’ve been run over by life
- Doing the absolute minimum that actually works
- Keeping your comfort (and your personality)
- Letting your body and brain breathe
It’s more about what you add in than what you violently strip away.
We’re not trying to become perfect wellness influencers. We’re just trying to feel less like shit.
The Lazy Girl Detox Rules (There Aren’t Many)
Here are the rules:
- If it takes more than 3 steps, we simplify it.
- If it feels like punishment, we don’t do it.
- If it makes you cry, unless they’re relief tears, it’s a no.
- We are anti-perfection and pro “good enough.”
Ready? Let’s reset your life in the laziest way possible.
Detox Area 1: Your Nervous System
Most of us don’t need another juice cleanse. We need a nervous system cleanse.
When you’re constantly stressed, overthinking, doom-scrolling and living in emergency mode, your body behaves like it’s under attack 24/7. No wonder you feel wired, tired, achy and emotionally fried.
Lazy Girl Nervous System Detox (Max 3 Steps)
- 1-minute exhale reset Sit or lie down. Breathe in normally. Breathe out slowly for longer than you breathed in. Repeat for one minute. That’s it.
- Phone in another room for 20 minutes Put your phone somewhere else and lie down. You’re not lazy – you’re resetting your brain.
- Do absolutely nothing for 5 minutes No scrolling. No TV. Stare at the wall, the ceiling, a tree, your cat. Let your brain be boring on purpose.
Congrats. You’ve just done more for your nervous system than a lot of people do in a month.
Detox Area 2: Your Inputs (What You Take In Every Day)
This is the sneaky one.
It’s not just food. It’s:
- The content you consume
- The people you talk to
- The noise in your environment
- The constant stimulation
Lazy Girl Detox = slightly tweaking your inputs so your brain isn’t constantly overstimulated and overwhelmed.
Lazy Girl Input Detox (Tiny Swaps Only)
- Swap 10 minutes of doom-scrolling for 10 minutes of silence.
- Mute three people who stress you out online. (You don’t owe anyone access to your nervous system.)
- Drink one actual glass of water before your caffeine. Not instead of. Before. We’re not monsters.
- Once a day, open a window and breathe real air. Revolutionary, I know.
These are not dramatic moves. But your body notices.
Detox Area 3: Your Environment (aka The Visual Chaos)
You know that thing where your house is technically “fine” but your brain feels assaulted by piles, clutter and random crap?
Visual noise is real. It drains you.
Lazy Girl Environment Detox
We are not doing a full deep clean. We are doing Minimum Viable Tidy.
- Pick one surface (coffee table, bedside table, kitchen counter) and clear it.
- Put things in a basket if you cba to sort them. The basket is “future me’s problem.”
- Light a candle, plug in a lamp or turn on a lamp you love.
Just one little corner that doesn’t scream at your nervous system is enough to feel different.
Detox Area 4: Your Habits Around Booze, Cigs, Sugar & Other Coping Tools
This is where it gets real.
Most of us don’t reach for wine, cigarettes, sugar or snacks because we’re weak. We reach for them because life is heavy and we never got taught better tools.
Lazy Girl Detox isn’t about shame. It’s about curiosity and tiny tweaks.
Lazy Girl Coping Detox (No Drama Edition)
- Add one sober / low-alcohol night a week Not forever. Just this week. See how your body feels in the morning.
- Delay the habit by 10 minutes Want a drink? A cig? A giant slab of sugar? Set a 10-minute timer and drink water first. If you still want it after, fine. You’ve already broken the automatic cycle.
- Find one “comfort that doesn’t wreck you” A hot shower, cosy film, weighted blanket, chatting to a friend, silly YouTube videos. Something that soothes you without wrecking your sleep or liver.
If you’re ready to go deeper with alcohol, smoking and feeling better in your own skin, my sober-focused wellness guide is for you.
Because you deserve to feel fucking amazing without destroying yourself in the process.

✨ Sober(ish) but Lazy? Start HereDetox Area 5: Your Inner Voice (The Real Toxic One)
There’s you… and then there’s the gremlin in your head that narrates everything with the warmth of a Victorian headmistress.
Lazy Girl Detox includes a gentle mental rebrand.
Lazy Girl Inner Voice Detox
For one week, when you catch yourself thinking:
- “I’m disgusting.”
- “I’m lazy and useless.”
- “I’ll never get my shit together.”
Try replacing it with:
- “I’m tired and doing my best.”
- “My brain is overwhelmed, not broken.”
- “I am allowed to start again in small ways.”
Cheesy? Maybe. Effective? Also yes.
You can’t bully yourself into wellness. If shaming yourself worked, you’d be a glowing, organised billionaire by now.
How Long Should a Lazy Girl Detox Last?
As long as you want.
It could be:
- A weekend reset
- A 7-day gentle experiment
- Or just… the new way you live, on your terms
No official start date, no punishment if you “mess up”, no gold star for suffering.
The whole point is to feel a bit better, not create another perfection project to fail at.
Lazy Girl Detox Checklist (Maximum 3 Steps Per Area)
Choose ONE from each section:
- Nervous system: 1-minute exhale / phone in another room / 5 minutes of staring at nothing
- Inputs: mute 3 stressy accounts / one glass of water before caffeine / 10 minutes less doom-scroll
- Environment: clear one surface / basket the chaos / light a candle or lamp
- Coping habits: one sober night / 10-minute delay before the habit / add a non-destructive comfort
- Inner voice: swap “I’m disgusting” for “I’m tired and doing my best”
That’s it. That’s the detox.
Remember: Feeling better doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from removing some of the constant pressure on your body and brain… and giving yourself the same kindness you give everyone else.
You Don’t Need to Earn Feeling Better
You don’t have to “deserve” rest. You don’t need to hit rock bottom to justify a reset. You don’t need to transform your life in one dramatic sprint.
You’re allowed to:
- Feel better slowly
- Change gently
- Keep it simple
- Stay lazy and still heal
Lazy Girl Detox is not about becoming a new person. It’s about finally treating the current you with some softness, humour and respect.
Because she’s carried you through a lot. Because she deserves a break. Because she deserves to feel fucking amazing… without doing too much.
Start where you are. Pick the easiest thing. Do it in the laziest way possible.
Your body will notice. Your brain will notice. And slowly, gently, you will too.
