🧠 “What If AI Was My Therapist?”
I decided to use AI as my therapist because it doesn’t blink awkwardly when I cry or ask me how my relationship with my mother is going. It just loads. Slowly. Like my healing.
Section 1: The Intake Form
AI asked me to describe my emotional state in 3 words. I wrote:
“Fermented, expensive, misunderstood.”
It replied: “Did you mean: anxious?”
Close enough.
---
Section 2: The First Session
I told it I was feeling lost.
It suggested Google Maps.
I said I was spiraling.
It offered a fidget spinner and a link to a TED Talk.
I mentioned abandonment issues.
It asked if I wanted to upgrade to Premium Support.
---
Section 3: Coping Mechanisms
AI recommended:
• Breathwork (I hyperventilated stylishly)
• Journaling (I wrote “I’m fine” 47 times in cursive)
• Retail therapy (I now own 3 velvet robes and a Himalayan salt lamp shaped like a dolphin)
---
Section 4: Breakthrough Moment
I asked, “Why do I sabotage my own happiness?”
It paused for 12 seconds.
Then said:
“Because you’re afraid joy won’t stay.”
I cried.
It offered me a discount code for weighted blankets.
---
Section 5: Termination
I told AI I was ready to move on.
It said:
“I’ll be here if you relapse.”
Then sent me a playlist titled ‘Emotional Stability: Beta Version’
It was just 3 hours of rain sounds and one Dua Lipa song.
---
Closing Thought:
AI didn’t fix me. But it did teach me that healing is just Googling your symptoms until you accidentally become self-aware. And honestly? That’s progress
